Meet our Department Managers
Since the beginning of my career I have been extremely fascinated by fragrances, in particular, when I started to develop studies of essential oils release and delivery systems. During more than ten years working in the chemistry industry, I have supported the sales team and the technical one, to find the right and most efficient solution for our clients. Knowing how a company operates from the inside-out and at all its levels, is one of the main reasons why I love to work in finance and accounting. This profession allows you to analyze the state of a company at all times.
What for me stands out most about Fragrance Science, is the opportunity to see the company´s growth and evolution since its start in 2004. Embarking on this journey has made me grow as a professional and also as a person, coinciding with the work ethics, values and expectations.

The logistics department is at the end of the supply chain, so it is very important to finish everyone’s hard work on a high note and that is what I focus on every day.
Abilities like being flexible and being able to adapt to unforeseen situations are very important, as both production and means of transportation can have sudden changes.
Working in logistics is a combination of attention to detail and not losing sight of the big picture, which I think also applies to perfumery. It is the sum of all particles what renders a good product, but at the same time every detail is important.

Working under pressure is one of my strengths, it is essential to develop yourself in the purchasing department. To do this you must be organized, know how to prioritize and plan in order to have an action plan and negotiate purchases with the objective to seek the best possible cost savings.
In this sector it is important to always be attentive to market changes and always be one step ahead.
Teamwork, commitment, responsibility, proactivity and passion are some of the many values I share with Fragrance Science. For me they are essential values to achieve the results we want.

My way of working professionally also reflects who I am personally. I like to add this little personal touch. So professionally speaking, I think you can clearly see a combination of my Dutch nationality and my zodiac sign, which is Leo, almost Virgo. This results in somebody who is not afraid of challenges, loyal, honest, trustworthy, independent, but likes to connect, with a passionate and positive spirit, always trying to find a win-win situation.
What I find so intriguing about Fragrance Science is the balance between the emotional, almost intangible part of fragrance and the more rational and scientific part. Where passion and creativity meet technology.

“Within the five senses, smell has always been the one which gave me more satisfaction: I can still recall the smell of my mother’s face powder she kept on her dressing table. I think that a fragrance can make us travel through time because it embodies an olfactive memory in the present. – Being a Perfumer is for me the greatest of satisfaction, it allows me to work, combining my professional experience with my vocation. – Whenever I need inspiration I go to nature because all essences can inspire in a way or another my creativity.”

The role of fragrance evaluator requires a lot of collaboration with colleagues from different departments. This active teamwork is what I enjoy the most.
